Request an Application
Enter in some basic information for the application and one of our expert advisors will be in touch with you within 24 hours. We will need to gather some more brief information from you such as health history and beneficiary information, as well as obtain a few signatures. Once the application is completed, we send it off to the insurance company you chose to begin the underwriting process.
Most cases require a medical exam or a “paramed exam”. Upon completing the application process, your advisor will schedule a nurse to come out to a location of your choosing. Blood and urine samples are collected and depending on the face amount you choose, additional tests may be required. This process usually takes about 30 minutes and is fully paid for by Insure & Retire.
The results of your paramed exam are sent to the life insurance company you chose and the underwriting process begins. Underwriting can take anywhere from 3 days to 1 month+ depending on your health history. Additional forms may be required from the underwriter.
Congratulations! One of our agents will inform you that you’ve been approved for the life insurance plan that you selected. At this point, the insurance company will begin to draft first premium from your account.
Once the policy is sent to us and the insurance company has collected the first premium, we will send you the hard copy of your policy. Keep the hard copy in a safe, dry place and let your beneficiary or other loved ones know where it’s been placed.
We greatly appreciate you choosing to protect your family and loved ones through Insure & Retire. We are glad to help you find exactly what you were looking for! The greatest compliment you can give us is to spread the word and refer us to your friends, family, and colleagues!

Common Life Insurance Questions
What is life insurance?
Life insurance is a contract between you (insured) and a life insurance company/carrier. In exchange for a premium, upon death of the insured, the company will pay out a specified amount of money (death benefit) to a beneficiary of the insured’s choosing.
Why do I need life insurance?
It is important to have life insurance coverage. Life insurance is intended to provide a financial safety net in the event of a death, most commonly used for income replacement of a significant other to the family. A family is already going to be grieving over a death, by purchasing a death benefit you are protecting your loved ones.
Do rates vary by broker?
No. Rates do NOT vary by each broker. Life insurance rates and premiums are set by the insurance company. There is no haggling or “discounted” life insurance.
Can I still get life insurance if I have a pre-existing health condition?
Yes. Although it depends on the condition(s), each insurance company has their own underwriting guidelines and not all of them are the same. Depending on the health condition, we will recommend a life insurance company that will give you the best rate and chance of approval.
What information do I need to give on a life insurance application?
A basic life insurance application usually requires information like address, occupation, social security number, bank account information (to draft premiums), and health/doctor information. Also a few signatures.
